Working On!!
On top of his daily responsibilties, Mark Anderson has started two Bible studies. On Wednesday evenings, he is working with Mark Eisenhower running a Bible Study for the junior boys. On Thursday evenings, he gathers the Eusebio Teen boys around a fire pit for prayer, worship, study and play. It is optional, yet all boys have chosen to participate! It could be the soccer game preceding study, but hey! I hear it is a sight when my Markie makes a goal and celebrates.:) Pray for Mark as he prepares the studies, knowing the direction he wants to see his boys grow.
Mark Eisenhower's computer lab, put together with donated laptops from Fluor International, Inc., is now connected to internet! Mandy, a volunteer visiting Fortaleza, is a fiberoptic specialist and oversaw the cable installation at the Lar. Researching school assignments just got a lot easier!
With donated paint, the Wellman clan and Mandy have painted the hall in the main building. It is white!!
First Baptist Church of Fortaleza sent a youth team of 50 people to the Lar on Saturday, with paint and supplies, to paint the outside of two houses. They'll be back in January to continue!
Marcy and Taylor keep on crafting with the kids every Tuesday and Thursday. You should see the tiaras, window ornaments, tatoos, and "art" they put together! Thanks!

DOORS OPEN: NEW CHILDREN COMING IN
A local Christian children's home has closed. With nowhere to send their kids, they contacted the Davis Lar. Due to abusive situations, and with no desire to send the children to public facilities, we prayed. Through special donations, we were able to open our doors and receive 6 more girls. However, we still need sponsors in order to take care of our current kids at the Lar, the ones who arrive Thursday, and to receive more. There are at least 11 kids in line, with social workers calling daily for spaces.
How can you help? Linda Schrader is organizing the sponsorship arm of the Lar in the US. We need representatives at the many churches who have members supprting our kids! Could you be a rep? Are you interested in sponsoring a child, or simply making a donation towards food, electricity, chicken feed, meds, clothes....and the list goes on?
Make a difference. Contact Linda at lhschrader@nctv.com
Or give her a call at 864 723-6866.

Walk On
God is faithful. We can look back at our adventure beginning in 2000, and see how He has founded, grown, and refined the Lar. Because of that, we can confidentally walk forward, not always with the provisions well defiined. I know we are supposed to walk in faith because He says so, but I have never been good at that. I need to look back and see the proof, and then take a deep breathe before stepping out into the unknown. Really, I obey well, but I often obey kicking and screaming, like a kid who is forced to go to Maine with her mom and step-dad, pouts all the way in the stupid plane, but then ends up eating lobster and horse back riding and loves every minute of it. (My poor mom! I made her trip miserable!)
Mark marches forward confidentally, without looking back, and I admire him. He personifies 2 Corinthians 5:7, "We live by faith, not by sight." I ask for prayer as we make decisions. A child has been rescued from a trafficker/drug Lord. Do we make room even though we cannot see the provision? Another has been abondoned on a street corner. Do we open the doors? Pray for our wisdom as our faith must increase. Pray as we walk forward blindly, trusting in Him to povide for the Lar and for us. Praise God for the joy of serving at the Davis Lar.
Sincerely,
Mark and Paige Anderson
